Be an Advocate for Bible Translation

The greatest advocates for Bible translation are faithful Christians in local churches.

The cause of Bible translation is most often furthered through ordinary people faithfully serving within the local church.

Being an advocate for the glorious cause of Bible translation right within your own church context can produce unimaginable fruit!

Here are some ways you can begin to work towards raising awareness for the work of Bible translation right now.

Pray

  • Pray that God would give you and your church an even greater sense of awe that you possess a copy of the Scriptures in your own language.

  • Pray that God would impart a renewed desire within his church to see the Scriptures translated into more languages.

  • Pray regularly for BTF and the global work of Bible translation, especially for BTF partners and missionary-translators

  • Pray for God to send out more workers into his harvest (Matt. 9:37-38).

  • Encourage your pastors to contact us and to pray publicly for global translation needs.

Encourage

  • Look for God’s grace in peoples’ lives and encourage them to serve in one of the triad disciplines of Bible translation.

  • Encourage people to use their gifts to promote global Bible translation needs, like our friend Sharree Nicole does with her piece "Creative Language".

  • Encourage missionaries to use their gifts to help Bible translation work in their area. Maybe there is a theological training school in their area where they can teach translators? There is likely a local Bible society that could use their exegetical skills or help with field testing, reviewing, or needs help with writing commentaries, study Bible notes, confessions of faith, hymns and songs.

  • Encourage your church to use some of their budget towards Bible translation work, and/or give some of your own income to Bible translation work.

  • Encourage your pastors to contact BTF and we can help them embed Bible translation into the DNA of your church’s missions’ work.

Partner

Watch this video interview with Paul Washer to hear how you can partner for the progress of God’s Word.

How do we partner together to see God's Word translated and used in the life and ministry of local churches? What can you do to help?
