Theological Training & Resource Development
E.D. Burns has been a missionary since 2002 and has worked in the Middle East, East Asia, Alaska, and Southeast Asia. He has written several books related to missions, including a work on Adoniram Judson.
He has formal training in Linguistics, TESOL, Biblical Studies, Historical Theology, Biblical Spirituality, and Missiology (BA, Moody Bible Institute; MA, Wheaton College; MA, Biola University; MDiv, Western Seminary; PhD, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary).
Burns previously directed a MA program at Western Seminary, and now teaches for a seminary in Southeast Asia. He leads a ministry that works with Natives in bush Alaska as well as least-reached peoples of Southeast Asia.
His ministry seeks to take the gospel to the un-engaged and to teach the un-discipled with the Christ-centered Scriptures. It prioritizes funding and partnerships toward research, translation, training, and theological resource development for the world's overlooked, un-engaged, and un-discipled language groups.
Burns is exploring and evaluating various BT needs among minority languages while he trains pastors, translators, Christian leaders, writes, and helps organize the production of theological resources into various languages of SE Asia.
