Key Fact:

There are over 3,988 languages used by 246 million people without any Scripture.

Dave and Stacey Hare are BTF non-staff partners serving with World Team in Cameroon, Africa among the Kwakum people.

They are graduates of The Master’s College, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Dallas International University.

The end goal is not just Bible translation, but a healthy Kwakum church with Kwakum leaders. However, healthy churches do not exist where its people cannot understand and minister the Scriptures.

The Great Commission includes teaching people “to observe all that Jesus has commanded.”

The Kwakum are a small people group in the East Province of Cameroon that have very little access to the Bible. In the villages, though people speak French, there is very little literacy, and the French of the Bible is beyond most Kwakum.

Therefore, Dave and Stacey are learning the Kwakum language in order to develop an alphabet, teach literacy, help translate the Bible, and disciple future leaders for the church.

They live in Dimako, Cameroon with their four children who were adopted from Ethiopia: Kaden, Makyra, Elias and Zoey.
