David was blessed to be raised in a Christian home that loved God, loved the local church, and loved world missions. Saved at a young age, he grew spiritually through church, music, sports, Bible reading, and evangelism. He met his wife, Kathy, at Moody Bible Institute, while both were preparing for missions ministry overseas. David and Kathy went to the Philippines under RBMU International in 1982. God increased their family with three children there.

Field life included work among a tribal group in Northern Luzon, while serving as Field Director, supervising and shepherding church planting workers in several different settings. The Lord richly blessed the work so that an indigenous tribal Bible school was established which continues to prepare students for village church ministry to this day.

After returning to the US in 1992 and then serving over 10 years in leadership of several missions organizations, David was encouraged to launch Propempo International in order to pursue his passion for the local church’s role in missions.

Propempo catalyzes practical, biblical ministry, resources and networking to enable church leaders to effectively mobilize their people for pioneering church planting in fulfillment of the Great Commission.

David’s work at Propempo includes oversight of ministry staff, resource development, field leadership, field strategy, and mentoring of missionary candidates and workers.

David and BTF can especially help pastors think about embedding Bible translation into the DNA of their church’s missions’ strategy.
