Understanding the Work of Bible Translation checking (i.e. “Consulting”)

The term "Bible translation consulting" typically requires some explanation for most people. 

A Translation Consultant is a person who is supposed to have facility in linguistics, one or more of the biblical languages, biblical studies, and experience in translation (whether as an exegetical advisor, translation advisor, translator, etc.).

This Translation Consultant (TC) works closely with the mother-tongue translators, both in helping them get ongoing training and in checking the translation via a back-translation.

Depending on availability, we can provide likeminded translation teams with a consultant to help the team check their translation.

There are not enough laborers in Bible translation, so we need to train more laborers to serve in the Bible Translation Triad.
