Advocating & Educating

Many local churches need God’s Word translated. And many other churches can help them to get it, and to learn to minister it. We’re trying to help both.

We're laboring so that more churches will integrate Bible translation with their missions' philosophy, funding, and priorities.

We’re advocating for churches that need God’s Word, and we’re educating those churches that can help them translate and minister God’s Word.

The current climate within much of the church has led to a marginalization and neglect of Bible translation ministry.

  • Christians are unaware that 90% of the world’s languages lack a full translation of God’s Word.

  • Many churches lack an article in their confession that articulates a commitment to Bible translation.

  • Churches often struggle to know how to get involved in Bible translation.

  • Churches even detach their missions’ work from Bible translation ministry.

We are compelled to advocate for Bible translation needs, and especially to be a resource for educating churches on how to get involved.

You’ll notice that our website, social media, and events are aimed at helping churches embed Bible translation into their missions' work.

We're especially trying to help pastors and church leaders identify, train, send, and support a new generation of pastor-translators, theologian-translators, professor-translators, linguists, consultants, and translators that are needed on translation teams.

Pastors, church leaders, and church members are the best advocates for missions and Bible translation, but maybe we can also help you:

  • Develop a philosophy of missions or missions' handbook;

  • Mentor someone who is considering a vocation in Bible translation.

We trust God's good design for the way He wants His church ordered, which means we respect the leadership God provides in local congregations.

It is pastors and church leaders whom God has given a special responsibility to lead His church (under the Great Shepherd, of course). Faithful pastors and teachers regularly preach and teach God's Word to God's people. They shepherd God's people, give counsel, and provide particular application of the Word to specific people they know well and who trust them.

Pastors and church members help God’s people discover particular grace-gifts and God-given skills as they consider possible vocations and ministry potential.

Pastors help educate the flock under their care about global needs in evangelism, discipleship, church planting, church strengthening, and Bible translation.

And so we work hard to gain the trust of pastors and church leaders; then we come alongside to educate them about needs and opportunities in Bible translation, with a focus on integrating Bible translation with church planting and strengthening.

Are you:

  • A pastor who wants help understanding the work of Bible translation?

  • A ministry that wants to help provide God’s people with God’s Word?

  • A school that wants to develop a Bible translation program or courses?

  • A Bible translation team that needs training?

Maybe we can help. Please contact us using the button below.
